Education for Everyone
Behavior

Changing and shaping behavior is a lifelong journey. Things will improve with practice and consistency. Steps may seem small, but progress is present. Remember that small successes lead to big gains. The key is to focus on one challenging behavior at a time.

Calming Strategies

Proactively put strategies in place that calm your child down to potentially avoid a behavior.

Motivation

Proper motivation needs to be in place for an adult or child to want to participate or succeed in an activity.

Skills, Engagement, & Independence

Deescalating Behavior

Strategies for deescalating behaviors may be different for each individual and specific situations.

Learning new skills is lifelong. All individuals learn at different rates and in different ways. While a person may not be able to complete an entire task, they may still learn parts of it. For example they may not be able to complete an entire toothbrushing sequence, but may learn to put the toothpaste on their brush and turn on the water. This is a space to learn about the best methods of instruction for your child.
